A Love Story Preserved: Jaina + Shawn's Wedding Bouquet Keepsakes

Meet Jaina + Shawn Dominguez

At Element Design Co, we love having the opportunity to speak with so many of our clients about their dream floral preservation through our Peony Experience. We’ve recently been lucky enough to work with Jaina Lopez, a lifestyle and fashion influencer based in NYC. Jaina’s stunning wedding was a perfect day for her and her husband, leading her to want to keep those precious memories alive with her florals.

The preserved wedding flowers

For her preservation, Jaina chose to include both a decorative frame and a functional resin serving tray. For her frame, she chose to go with a 16x20 gold wood frame, with a floating glass backing. The large frame houses her wedding bouquet, which was made up of white roses, orchids, and long strands of bleached white amaranthus. The asymmetric fresh bouquet translated perfectly into our burst design.

Jaina’s resin serving tray was in the rectangular shape (we also offer a geometric tray) with gold handles. She also chose to have a burst design with this piece, which displayed her centerpiece florals.

Questions for the bride

What aesthetic did you go with for your wedding day? (boho, classic, romantic, etc)

I would call the aesthetic of our wedding to be 'Modern Romantic', I really embraced having a modern clean vibe with as much romanticism as possible!

What was your favorite part of your wedding day?

My favorite part of my wedding day was my first look with my now husband! We got ready in separate rooms, but in the same airbnb, so we did our first look there, and it was so intimate and special. We also made sure to dedicate some time in the Airbnb before officially getting married and needing to drive over to the venue, that pre-wedding quiet was so special.

What did you decide to preserve - bridal bouquet, centerpiece, boutonniere - and why?

I decided to preserve my bouquet and our bar arrangement! I really wanted to do something special with my wedding flowers to commemorate that special moment, and became obsessed with the work of Element. My bouquet was so special to me, and I decided to do the bar arrangement because I really wanted a piece of our reception forever. It was the most fun party, and I think it's so special to have a preserved piece now for both my ceremony and my reception.

Why did you decide to preserve your flowers?

I'm super sentimental, and wanted something that would last a lifetime and effortlessly fit in our home now and in the future! I loved this idea as opposed to the more traditional just drying your bouquet and putting it in a shadow box.

What is your favorite part of your preserved piece(s)?

I absolutely love how the essence of the arrangements were captured, because even though the flowers have been dried and pressed they still have the essence of the original arrangements.

We are so glad that Jaina chose Element Preservation. Working with her florals was a treat for our designers, and the final products speak for themselves. We hope they provide Jaina and her family with those happy memories for years to come!
