A Farm Saved by Friends, a Bouquet Grown by One, and the First Thing They Framed After the Wedding

Some weddings are held at a venue. Danielle and Cameron's was held at a place that was still becoming one.

Their friends' family farm in Boyertown, Pennsylvania had been saved in 2022 and 2023 and was slowly being reimagined into what will soon open as Homestead Farms. Danielle and Cameron got married there before it had a sign. The ceremony was in the field just off the main barn. The weather did what September in Pennsylvania rarely agrees to do: seventies all day, with a breeze. She got ready across the street, in one of her best friends' homes, surrounded by her family and bridal party.

They called it a boho barn wedding, and it was, but the word that comes up most when Danielle talks about it is connections. Every vendor was local, and half of them turned out to be connected to each other. The owner of the mobile bar cart had a father who helped wire the barn during its remodel. The photographers are a husband and wife duo, and Danielle went to college with the wife, who also went to the same high school as Danielle's cousin. That was just the beginning of the list.

The night ended the way a good farm wedding should. A Mr. Softee ice cream truck pulled in, and then everyone lined the drive for a sparkler exit.

The Bouquet

Danielle's bouquet was designed by a friend, and the friendship came first.

She met Kyra, the owner of Bloom and Gathered Floral Company, through her director at work. Over the next few years they grew close. Kyra runs a flower farm and floral studio in the Oley Valley with her family, and she hosts yoga in the flower field events where guests walk the rows and make their own bouquets afterward. Danielle went to those. Kyra paid attention to which flowers she kept reaching for.

So when it came time to design the wedding bouquet, Danielle sent Kyra her Pinterest board and let go. Kyra already knew her favorites. She built the bouquet from her own fields, along with every other floral moment of the day, and Danielle told us it went beyond her wildest dreams.

There is something special about preserving a bouquet that was grown by someone who knows you. The flowers were personal before they were ever pressed.

How She Found Us

Danielle's best friend got married in October 2023 and mentioned she was bringing her bouquet up to our studio to be preserved. When the finished piece came home and she showed it around, Danielle was sold on the idea immediately. She had been a bridesmaid at that wedding, so she preserved her bridesmaid bouquet from it too.

Two weeks after that wedding, Cameron proposed.

From the very first planning conversation, preservation was already on the list. Not a late add or a maybe. Part of the plan from day one, which we love, because it means the bouquet was designed knowing it would last.

The Reveal

Danielle scheduled a pickup appointment at our studio (local emphasis, pick up apt), and she told us she was looking forward to it from the moment the appointment was booked.

"I was giddy all day and so excited to see it again! I was incredibly thrilled and teared up for sure."

That is the reaction we hope for every time. Not just that the piece looks right, but that opening it feels like the day coming back.

Where the Piece Lives Now

The frame hangs in Danielle and Cameron's living room, and she told us it has become the start of their wedding decor. It is also, as she put it, the first thing they have framed since the wedding.

We think about that a lot. Couples come home with hundreds of photographs and a gallery link, and the first thing that actually goes on the wall. is the flowers. That says something about what a bouquet holds. It is not a picture of the day. It is a piece of it.
