How to Pack and Safely Ship your Wedding Bouquet
Our Director of External Communications, Nikole, demonstrates how to safely pack and ship your precious blooms in this educational video.
Note: DO NOT SHIP THROUGH USPS! We do not recommend shipping through USPS because they experience delays causing fresh flowers to arrive late despite the “guaranteed” ship date.
Flower Shipping Instructions
- Gather your supplies: your bouquet, any additional flowers you are preserving, paper towels, water, aluminum foil, a large and small box, scissors or an exacto knife, packing tape, parchment paper, recycled paper or packing material (please refrain from using plastic material or packing peanuts) , an informational sheet & a pen!
- Gather enough paper towels to wrap ~4 inches around the bouquet and cut a piece of aluminum foil slightly larger than the paper towels.
- Wet your paper towels and wrap them around the stems of your flowers (the wetter they are, the fresher the flowers will stay!) Then, wrap your aluminum foil around the paper towels. Set your bouquet to the side.
- Next, grab your small box, tape, and scissors. Tape your small box closed. This box will act as your vase in transit.
- Cut an "X" in the top of the smaller box and fold back the sides of the X.
- Make 2-3 tape donuts and place them on the bottom of the smaller box. Then, secure your smaller box at the bottom of the large box. Add extra tape if needed to ensure it will not slide around in transit!
- Place your bouquet into the "X" you made in the smaller box, with your flowers standing up. Add your recycled paper or packing material around the bouquet to keep it from falling over. Please refrain from using plastic materials or packing peanuts because they may wilt the flowers.
- Cut a piece of parchment paper about the width of your bouquet and then loosely place it over your bouquet in the box. This will help to protect the top of your bouquet from the top of the box.
- Take your informational sheet and fill out your information with your name, phone/email, order numbers, and items in the box. Then, tape the sheet to the inside flap of the box.
- Gently close and tape your large box. Writing "Fragile" and "This Side Up" with arrows will help the carrier to know to handle your package with care & get to us safely!
- Bring your package to your local shipping drop-off so it can be shipped to Element Design.
- Sit back, relax & wait for your beautiful flower preservation!

Please note, shipping fresh flowers to our shop is the financial responsibility of the customer. To avoid shipping costs, you may drop off your flowers to our shop in Easton, PA by scheduling an appointment.
Some of our clients have saved up to 60% off retail price for shipping labels by using discounted services such as Pirate Ship. Users can easily create an account and print out a discounted shipping label at home. Element is not affiliated or endorsed by these services, however, we will always share saving opportunities when applicable.
To get an estimate on overnight shipping costs directly through UPS, feel free to use their shipping calculator tool and our zip code, 18042.
Please do NOT ship until you have placed your order online.
Send us your florals via overnight or 1-day transit the next business day. Longer ship times cause flowers to deteriorate in the box. DO NOT SHIP VIA USPS (post office) - they are experiencing delays causing fresh flowers to arrive late despite the “guarantee” ship date.
Please note, to help with the preservation process and beauty of design, your fresh flowers must arrive within 5 business days after the wedding or occasion date. Also, be aware of our shop's closing dates for holidays.
If your wedding or event falls on a holiday weekend, please overnight ship your fresh flowers to us the following business day. For example, your wedding is on Saturday, May 25th and we are closed on Monday, May 27thth. Overnight ship or drop-off your florals to us on Tuesday, May 28th.
While waiting to ship or drop-off your bouquet to us, keep the stems in water and the bouquet/floral arrangement(s) in a cool, dark place. If possible, store the bouquet in the front or middle section of the fridge - this will help avoid any moisture dripping on the flowers!
