Element Design Co would not be the same without the team behind the scenes. We love our community of creative thinkers, and the beautiful pieces we get to create would not be possible without the helpful hands and hearts of everyone on our staff. You’ve gotten to know Director of Communications, Nikole Cingari, and now we want to take an opportunity to highlight our Director of Production, Abby Paradysz, who has been with us almost from the start! If you are following along on our social media, you will get to see her on our instagram! She’ll be doing a bit of a takeover, so we thought we’d introduce her to you before you dove into a day in the life of Abby Paradysz!

A Sister Act

Abby came to work with us in June of 2021. She watched her sister, Amelia Kovacs, start this small business and had offered support in various ways before taking on the role of Production Manager. Abby was frequently dropping by to lend a hand, and her familiarity with the shop allowed her to hit the ground running.

She came from a corporate company, and was excited to jump into a new environment. “I was not very fulfilled with my day-to-day work. I knew working alongside my sister but also with a group of incredible humans would be an amazing experience. Although I wasn't too familiar with flowers when I started, I have a new found love for all things floral.”  After almost four years, Abby has come to learn the ins and outs of the fresh flower industry, and has been our go to for inventory flower orders. From someone who knew just the basics of florals, she can now confidently name 100’s of species. She also gets to know all of our various suppliers, and has loved making connections with the vendors who help us create our products. Abby’s title has expanded from “manager” to “Director”, and the work she does makes the whole business run smoothly.

Abby’s presence in the shop goes beyond her keeping us well supplied and her role as a leader. She has an infectious positive attitude, and she brightens our days. Even with her various responsibilities, she makes time to check in with the team and will take a hands-on approach to the work of preserving the flowers that come through our doors. Abby told us what she thinks is the best part of being on the Element team- “Seeing the beauty of every single bouquet that comes through our doors, as well as the experience of working for a small business and having my work make more of a direct impact on the team, community and clients.”

Abby At Home

When she’s not hard at work, Abby relaxes with friends and family. She has a toddler nephew, who keeps everyone active! Abby loves all things movement and spends time playing pickle ball with her boyfriend. When she’s at the shop, she takes breaks by walking around Easton, as we are lucky to be centrally located in the city’s West Ward district. She loves popping into one of our local cafes for a cup of coffee and taking in the treelined street. She’s particularly fond of the warm weather, and loves daffodils because they tell her spring is well underway.

Of course, we had to ask her about her favorite products. She told us she loves the Tryptych Bundle, because it’s such a grand way to display florals. She’s also enamoured with our serving trays. Abby loves functional beauty, and the serving tray is the best way to combine sentiment and useability. She has her own display tray, which she got to memorialize being a Maid of Honor to her sister Amy. She takes obvious pride in our work as a company, and her contributions to Element Preservation.

We can’t say enough how much we love having Abby on our crew. Her dedication and positive spirit make each day a bit brighter, and we appreciate her willingness to always be her wonderful self. If you want to see more of Abby, follow along on our Instagram! She pops up often, and will soon be doing a bit of a takeover!
