Meet Amanda!

She is the owner and founder of Dressed In Love Bridal. She has a passion for helping brides find the gown(s) of their dreams and has spent most of her life doing just that from working in her parent's bridal retail shop!

Amanda definitely has an eye for bridal fashion and we can't wait to share more about her journey!

A: "I have two favorite flowers, which don't know if that's allowed but I love peonies. So that's always been my favorite flower for as long as I can remember, but I also really love daisies. That's my birth flower. I have it on my wrist and I also have a chrysanthemum for my dog because that's his birth flower. I love flowers in general and truly across-the-board. I love gardening. I love florals in general, but definitely peonies and I would say daisies as well."

A: "I started on with the designer Paloma Blanca back in and I believe 2013 and 2014. So, I started working with them doing sales for them wholesale. So, I used to work with bridal shops all across the country. That's kind of how I got my foot in the door. I got to see all kinds of different operations and decided to make my own operation of my own bridal shop in September of 2020."

A: "My style is such a mix of things. We obviously love all black here. Black nails, black clothes but it's so interesting because my style doesn't always translate to everybody else's style. So when we're selecting samples for the shop, of course, I take into consideration my own fun flare because I want it to be relatable to me and for people to be able to come to me for fashion advice, but we also have to shop for everybody else too. So I want to make sure that I have a little bit of everything for everyone but my personal style is like a little bit edgy. Sometimes there's a leather jacket, sometimes there's Vans but sometimes there's like a pink dress with bows. So I guess I'm a little bit of everything."

A: "The Bridal Fashion industry kind of runs in my family actually so my parents owned a bridal shop when I was growing up so I literally grew up in the industry. Shortly after that my dad joined on with the designer
back in 1996. So it's been a long time coming but I was around that designer for most of my life. I joined on about 11 years ago and then just started my own business back in 2020."

A: "Favorite parts of my career. First of all, I love being in the fashion industry. I love everything about fashion, but specifically Bridal Fashion and it's really fun to be in a career that I'm so knowledgeable about as well. I think that makes the job a little bit easier, but also more fun. I'm able to really help women find something for their bodies, that is the best all-around. So we have so many things that we take into consideration when helping brides shop for a dress but truly I think my favorite part is when it all comes together, whether it's the style, the color, the fit, the budget you know, all of these different things kind of have to come together into one and I would say that that is by far the most rewarding part of the job when I get to see that final look of the bride and just see how happy and empowered that makes her feel.

A: "The best advice I would offer is to find a few minutes throughout the day regardless of where that is or when that is to just have a moment to yourselves. I love when people are able to take like a glass of champagne with the couple and just get away for a few minutes. The day will go by so quickly and you're going to have a lot of people to see and people to be around but truly the most important part of the day is the time with your partner and I think it's really important to kind of honor that even if it's just for a few minutes."

A: "So the dress timeline is probably the longest timeline in the wedding planning process. So, of course, you have to book your venue pretty far out to secure a date, but just like you have to do that. You also have to select a dress. We like to allow at least six to seven months for production and then about three months for alterations. So for example, if your wedding is July 1st of next year, you should be shopping now. We we say it's never really too early to shop just because things get discontinued, there are shipping delays, there's all kinds of different things that can go into the process of the actual producing and shipping of the gown. So it's never really too early to shop but we've of course we always have last minute shoppers as well. So in those scenarios, we always offer some off the rack selections and a lot of our
designers that we work with do have a couple of rush shipping options, but all in all at least a year is your best bet."

A: "So we are fortunate to have serviced brides literally all across the country, so I would definitely say of course we are Pennsylvania based so we get a ton of Pennsylvania brides, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Delaware, we've had people come from Virginia. I've had a couple of West Coast Brides as well. So we've really been fortunate to have such a good outreach through social media and advertising. So I've truly been able to service people from all over the country."

A: "I hope that we can just continue to grow so in just a matter of four years, we've already grown so so much and I hugely attribute that to my amazing staff. They are the best people in the world and I would not be here without them. But next I am hoping to have a separate formal wear location for mother of the bride and groom, and prom and any other gala formal gowns and then I'm also hoping to have an off-the-rack location as well where I can cater to brides that have close wear dates or lower budgets. That would kind of be my my next two moves hopefully, but I just really hope to be able to continue to serve brides, mothers of the brides, formal wear, prom and just really hope to continue to empower them and help them to embrace their bodies."

A: "It has been a true pleasure for me to be able to have this business and like I said to the really serve women and make them feel special and beautiful. Something that I think myself and all of my staff can agree on that it is a feeling like none other when a bride is in the gown that makes her feel good, that makes her look good. Everyone gets a little teary-eyed and it's just a really special moment. And that that is why I do what I do."
