What Our Clients are Asking About and Our Answers
Flower preservation is an old art that has found new life in the past few years. We here at Element Preservation are thrilled that so many people love the beauty of flowers enough to have them preserved and turned into framed artwork and functional resin pieces.
With bouquet preservation being something that is recently becoming popular again, we understand that there are many questions about the process. Whether you are totally new to the world of pressed flowers, or if you have been pressing petals between pages of books or hanging blooms upside down for years, you may be wondering about things like how the florals will change, why our process takes the time it does, and how to get the best preservation for your flowers. We have compiled so of the most common questions that we receive from our clients. Still curious about something? Feel free to reach out to us via our Instagram or contact our Client Relations Team. We love talking to our clients.
Flower Questions
How many flowers should I send in?
The amount of florals sent in or dropped off to us should correspond to your order. If you are ordering a 16x20 frame or a resin serving tray, one bouquet will suffice. For larger orders or bundled items, consider sending us the bridal bouquet along with bridesmaids bouquets and centerpiece arrangements. We have crafted a helpful guide to know how many flowers will be enough to ensure you get the most out of your bouquet preservation.
If you would like specific items to contain specific arrangements, please be sure to let our team know in your order notes as you place your order, or by contacting our team within a week of your flowers arriving at our studio. If we do not hear from you within that week, our designers will use their professional expertise to create your items.
Do flowers change color when pressed?
Yes! All flowers will change during the pressing process. Some changes are more notable than others, but you can expect the blooms to shift in hue, and for them to change more over time. We do not apply any color correction, and allow the natural beauty of the flowers to shine. You can learn more about color change here, from our Field Notes section of the website.
Are there any unpressable flowers?
We are able to press almost anything! Protea, billy balls, sunflowers, and dahlias are some things we hear our clients wondering whether or not we are able to get flat. All of those are able to be pressed and preserved in your frame or resin piece. There are some exceptions, such as fruit berries, some seed pods, and larger sticks or stems. If you’re unsure about something in your bouquet, feel free to reach out to our team.
What if my flowers arrive molded/damaged/never arrive?
We have a couple of options for when the worst happens (which is rare, especially when all of our bouquet packaging instructions are followed). We will reach out at the pressing stage as soon as we can see that the are any issues with your florals. You can purchase Flower Insurance, which allows us to replace up to $50 worth of flowers per product from our inventory. Please note that Flower Insurance is purchased per product, not per order.
You can also utilize our Recreation Services, in which we work with a florist local to us to provide new fresh flowers, which we will then press and design as we typically do.
What if I have already dried out my flowers?
We do work with already dried florals. We offer our Confetti Style resin pieces, which are a delightful way to keep long dried flowers alive for years to come.
My wedding flowers are long gone. Do I still have options?
We offer recreation services, where we can source and press a new bouquet to turn into the preservation artwork of your dreams.
We also offer Digital Floral, a unique way to preserve the beauty of your bouquet even years after an event.

Ordering and Process Questions
How long does the process take?
You will receive your order 6-12 months after your bouquet arrives in our studio. We go into why our process takes this amount of time in our Field Notes. Each flower takes time to preserve correctly, and our team works hard to press and carefully lay out designs for the hundreds of arrangements we receive each wedding season.
If you would like to have more of a hand in the designing of your pieces, or would prefer a more expedited timeline, the Peony Experience may be right for you! We will then send you proofs of the products you ordered, and will complete them once they are approved. When you do give your approval, your finished pieces will be ready to send back or be picked up in a matter of a few weeks rather than months.
How far in advance should I place my order?
We understand that you may decide you want to keep your florals after you see them in person on your wedding day! We are happy to accept last-minute orders for bouquet preservations. Orders can be placed from 6 months in advance, up to the week of the wedding.
Flowers must arrive within 5 business days after your wedding,to ensure that they are in a workable condition for us.
Will I receive personal updates on my order?
We like to say “No news is good news!”. If you haven’t heard from us, this means that the preservation magic is working as it should and your order is being created with no issue. You are more than welcome to reach out to us at any point to check in on your order. You can contact us through our website form or at 484-546-2440.
If I send my flowers in a vase, will I get it back?
No, we do not ship back any glass vases or other items that may be used to hold or decorate your bouquet stems. If you have a special request to include charms, pins, or other items in your design, please contact our Client Relationship Team prior to shipping your bouquet to confirm if it will be possible to include these items.
If you wish to keep items that cannot be included in the design, please remove them from the bouquet prior to shipping. Extra items sent without confirmation from our team will be discarded upon intake.
When shipping your bouquet to our shop, please follow our shipping instructions to learn how to properly pack your bouquet.
